425 Variables (Painting from Observation) WORKSHOP
Pablo Picasso said: “There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.” Painting from observation, emphasis will be placed on process and risk taking through a sequence of mark making, explorations and experimentation. The work will evolve over several iterations continually using observation as a way of entering the work. In challenging your comfort zone you may push the work toward abstraction or realism. We are more concerned here with process and discovery than with making “finished” works.
This course is recommended for the mid to advanced oil or acrylic painter.
