471 Cyanotype for the Artist

This class is designed to take your cyanotype work to the next level! The cyanotype method can be used to transfer images and impressions onto clothing, it can be combined with watercolor paints to create stunning works, and it can even be used as a base of block printing. Topics we will explore include contemporary artists using cyanotype in their art practice, commercial artists who use cyanotype to create and sell products, and methods of incorporating cyanotype into different artistic mediums. The instructor will provide demos, and students may explore many different directions with their work. Students will have the opportunity to work with cyanotype combined with watercolor methods, natural fabrics (such as cotton and linen), and even linoleum block printing. Come and experiment, explore, and create in this fun, creative class! A materials fee of $15 is required.
