470 Exploring Cyanotype

Dive into this alternative photography process and the many creative paths it can lead you down. Cyanotypes were first discovered in 1842 by Sir John Herschel and were used as a means of reproducing documents and notes. Whether a novice or expert, come and try your hand in this simple yet elegant process. Students will learn how to create the cyanotype solution, apply it to an array of materials, gather objects, create digital negatives and produce perfect exposures. Cellphones required.
