Students will walk away with a solid knowledge of the cyanotype process that they may replicate on their own and an understanding of how to make digital negatives. Students will create an array of final prints, and possibly one fabric item of their choice. Students will also be introduced to the history of the cyanotypes and alternative processes, followed by a demonstration of the printing process using both botanical items and digital negatives and application of the cyanotype solution. Additional instruction will include printing on clothing and bags, and application to different materials. Students will be instructed to bring in cotton items to try out.
