Learn how to unlock your creativity with your digital camera while capturing the natural beauty of iconic South Shore locations, each of which will present different photographic opportunities: Scituate Lighthouse, Joy Place Cemetery, Fort Revere in Hull, Chinatown in Boston and an abandoned location (TBD). This course will focus on the technical aspects of digital photography such as manual use of light metering, depth of field, exposure compensation, lens selection and composition techniques. We will follow this with an exploration of the art of photography based on discussions of masterworks. We will build on your abilities each week through various assignments created to reinforce topics learned. Digital SLR cameras required, tripods recommended. This class is not for strict beginners, it is for those who understand how to shoot beyond the auto setting.
