371 Visual Thinking for Creativity

Visual thinking serves as a broad introduction to visual literacy, and introduces students to the complex process of visual communication, from the mechanics of sensation, perception and memory to the interaction of graphic forms, subject matter, and context. Through a series of presentations and hands-on visual projects, students learn that their ability to derive meaning from what they see is essential to creative development as visual storytellers. With this course, students will develop their visual intelligence and creativity, and begin to observe, decode, recognize, dissect, identify, experience, and understand the visual world and how our minds process, recall and repurpose visual data. This class is useful for all artists and visual storytellers. No Class February 21st.
