The journey of self-reflection for middle school students throughout the South Shore will take place during summer vacation (August 3 – August 7). Students will meet daily for multiple days and work directly with professional artist mentors on a series of projects designed to both explore issues of identity and encourage experimentation with multiple art mediums. Post project completion, SSAC will showcase the student work in one of the SSAC galleries. On the last day, Students, Artist Mentors and Eve Penoyer, Founder of the Foundation for Creative Achievement, will reflect on the previous four-day journey. Then, SSAC will host a celebratory gallery exhibition of their art and invite family & friends to the event. Art mediums will include acrylic painting, figure drawing, mixed media and more. There is no fee for this class, as it is funded by the Foundation for Creative Achievement. Class size is limited, early registration is encouraged.
