130 Middle School Mixed Media (Grades 5-8)
Join us for this hands-on, experimental, messy and fun workshop aimed at exploring the many approaches to artistic collage. Get ready to cut, rip, tweeze, tear, burn, blob, smash, slip, hole-punch, glue, cement and plaster! Each week we will focus on one collage based strategy for art making, with focus ranging from layering and composition to color theory and texture. Drawing from numerous materials, both common and uncommon, students will be free to conceive and execute their own unique artwork each class. We will explore the worlds of both 2D and 3D collage, and experiment with different styles and themes as you create your unique piece. Whether you want to express your favorite music, travel, dreams or personal identity, the possibilities are endless!
