Celebrate your child's birthday at the South Shore Art Center. Our creative faculty is ready to delight your child and friends with a two-hour party. Activity is geared to the birthday person's interest.

WE do the art project for up to 10 children. YOU do the cake, ice cream, decorations, etc.

Gallery Rentals

Located at 119 Ripley Road, the Art Center accepts rental agreements for use of the Bancroft Gallery and the Dillon Gallery. The current exhibition will augment the ambience of your event, making it a memorable experience for everyone.

BANCROFT GALLERY features a 32' ceiling with dramatic skylights and professional exhibitions which provide an elegant and refined atmosphere for your meeting, rehearsal dinner, reception, bar mitzvah, shower, or other function. There is an adjacent full-service kitchen.
1300 sq. ft. - Capacity: 150 seated auditorium style
$700 for four hours; $50 for each additional hour
$100 non-refundable deposit required

DILLON GALLERY is ideal for meetings and conferences providing a carpeted, comfortable gallery setting. The kitchen is nearby.
1100 sq. ft. - Capacity: 100 seated auditorium style
$400 for four hours; $35 for each additional hour
$50 non-refundable deposit required

BANCROFT AND DILLON GALLERIES TOGETHER
2400 sq. ft. - Capacity: 250 seated
$850 for four hours; $100 for each additional hour
$125 non-refundable deposit required

GENERAL INFORMATION: Free parking is available across the street. There are restrooms on each floor, and the building is accessible to everyone.

Access is solely through the main entrance. Emergency exits are clearly marked. In order to ensure success for your function, please discuss with us any special considerations in advance. A security deposit is required on all rentals.

EQUIPMENT: The SSAC will provide, free of charge, folding chairs and tables (30x60). The renter must make catering arrangements and obtain liquor licenses. A list of preferred caterers is available from the Art Center office.

RESTRICTIONS: Bar must be an open bar. Renter must have insurance certificate. There is no smoking in the building. Events may not be political fundraisers. The renter is responsible for clean up. Building capacity is 350. Any arrangements to move artwork must be made through the office.

RENTAL POLICY: The rental and security deposits are required at the time of the reservation with the balance paid in full on or before the date of rental. A signed contract is required. Renter will be required to pay for loss or damage to artwork and/or facility.

DIRECTIONS: The South Shore Art Center is in the center of Cohasset at 119 Ripley Road. From Rte. 3A, turn onto Sohier Street (Music Circus sign), then right at the light onto Ripley Road. The SSAC is the last building on the right.
